As the year 2023 comes to a close, many of us have likely already started making New Year's resolutions. Setting goals and making plans for the upcoming year are undoubtedly important. However, I would argue that it is equally important to take the time to reflect on the past year.

As we bid farewell to 2023, we are both thrilled and saddened to announce the retirement of Scott Payne and Skip Payne from our organization. It is with a mix of excitement and nostalgia that we reflect on their leadership journey at IcareLabs, which began in the early 2000s following the passing of their father, our beloved founder, John Payne.

"Price is what you pay; value is what you get" is one of Warren Buffett's most famous quotes. While a lot of people are familiar with this quote, many do not put this into practice. Understanding value vs. price is key for not only your sales dollars but also your patient's satisfaction and return business.

If you're like most workers in America today, you're probably tired and having trouble sleeping. Work seems to follow you everywhere - from the dinner table to family gatherings and even into bed. It's time for a vacation, or as our friends across the great pond call it, a holiday. Whatever you want to call it, you definitely need it.

Mark Twain, in response to a newspaper article reporting his death, hilariously stated that "The reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated". This famous quote could have been used by our industry numerous times over the past few decades.

As most know by now, June 27th is National Sunglasses Day. I am pretty sure that most of us are not planning a big cookout, family time, and presents. It does fall on a Tuesday which already has its own purpose. Who doesn't enjoy Taco Tuesday? I believe tacos cover 4 of the 5 major food groups, but I digress.
