Effective February 29, 2024, the following Varilux lenses will no longer be available:

  • Varilux Physio and the Varilux Physio Short

  • Varilux Physio 360 and the Varilux Physio 360 Short

  • Varilux Comfort Enhanced and the Varilux Comfort Enhanced Fit

  • Varilux Physio Enhanced, Varilux Physio Enhanced Fit, and the Varilux Physio Enhanced Eyecode

If you've been in the optical industry for the past few decades, then you've undoubtedly heard someone ask for the "new" Comfort or Physio. It was impossible to try and figure out which lens design was being referenced, so it's nice to see some of these older designs be retired.

With many of the recent advancements in technology that Varilux has made with their lenses they have trulyVarilux lens digital progressives made these older designs obsolete. So now what should you be using for a replacement?

For patients who were using the Physio or Physio Short, then the Physio DRx will be the perfect alternative. With the Physio 360 or the Physio 360 Short, we recommend upgrading them to either the Varilux Comfort Max or the Varilux Physio DRx. These lenses will provide them with upgraded digital technologies for a comparable price.

For patients who were using the Comfort Enhanced, Comfort Enhanced Fit, Physio Enhanced, Physio Enhanced Fit, or the Physio Enhanced Eyecode, we recommend upgrading them to either the latest Varilux XR Series or the Varilux X Series lenses. These will provide them with a premium top-of-the-line design that should impress them.
