As 2025 comes to a close, I look in the rearview mirror to many blessings, some sadness, and several operational hurdles we have had to navigate. Even though it doesn't feel like another year has come and gone (where did the time go?), I'd like to reflect on all the year had to offer myself and the entire Icare family.

Well, 2024 certainly has been a year for the history books here at IcareLabs. We had plenty of ups and a few big downs, as I'm sure most of you can relate to (specifically if you live here in Florida). All in all, this was definitely a year to remember, and I'm so glad that I've been able to share it all with my Icare family.

We recently marked our 56th anniversary, a milestone made possible by our incredible customers and dedicated employees! This past year has brought challenges, surprises, new equipment, and a wealth of learning experiences, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Today we celebrate 55 amazing years thanks to our amazing team members. We would also like to thank the many eyecare professionals across the USA who have supported us over the years.

Let's take a look at what 55 years looks like in numbers.

Another year down and many great lessons learned over the course of this past year. We've completed several equipment upgrades and fine-tuned numerous processes within the lab itself. Along the way, we've zeroed in o areas for improvement in the New Year. Let's take a look at what we learned and what it all means for us heading into 2023.

With this year almost complete, 2021 has truly been a year for the history books; in more ways than we can count. Earlier this year, the 3rd generation of Payne leadership took the helm at IcareLabs. I proudly accepted the position of President alongside my cousin, Tyler Payne, stepping into the Executive Vice President role and my brother, James Payne, as our Vice President of Technology.

We are also blessed to have the brilliant wisdom of Scott & Skip Payne to continue guiding us in their Senior Advisor roles. I know my grandfather would be proud to see how far we have come as a company and as a family.

 

Our family had no idea how drastically all our lives would be forever changed when my grandfather, John W. Payne, founded IcareLabs 51 years ago. In 2008, John was posthumously inducted into the Lab Division Hall of Fame. I am beyond honored to announce one of his sons, and my uncle, Skip Payne, will be inducted into the Lab Division Hall of Fame in 2019!
