One of the benefits of using our myIcareLabs portal is that we retain all previous frame tracings on file for your convenience. This means that if you have a doctor’s remake or are processing a coating warranty, you can continue using the patient’s existing frame while we create the new lenses.
To place an order for lenses only, simply select the "Job Type" as "Finish (Edge From Memory)" and input the patient’s previous Job ID number into the "Edge from Job ID" field. This ensures that we have all the necessary details to replicate the original frame and lens configuration.
When ordering uncut lenses, it's important to consider the variability in frame manufacturers' measurements. To achieve the best possible cut, IcareLabs uses a comprehensive frame database with sizes for thousands of frames already stored. By including the frame details—such as frame information, size, and shape—during the ordering process, we can ensure the lenses are properly sized to fit the frame.

Optimizing lens thickness for better cosmetic appearance often comes down to one crucial factor: Base Curve. While the material you choose plays a large role, specifying the correct base curve for a given prescription and frame can significantly impact the final thickness of your lenses. By selecting the proper base curve that works with their Rx and frame you'll get a good fit and a happier patient too.
To ensure the best results, be sure to provide accurate prescription details, frame measurements, and base curve specifications when placing an order through our myIcareLabs portal. This will help minimize any potential cut-out issues and ensure a smoother, more efficient process.
For more detailed guidance on selecting the correct base curve, refer to our in-depth blog post on the topic which includes a simple formula you can use to ensure correct base curve on every job you do. While entering the base curve isn’t strictly required, selecting the correct one from the outset can greatly improve the efficiency and accuracy of your orders.
