The Ultimate Guide To The Eyezen Family
Eyezen™ lenses are becoming more and more popular with patients across the board. The Eyezen family was originally released for young presbyope patients that needed an additional boost but the line has since expanded and they now have options available for almost everyone that wears a single vision lens!
As someone who has never had an eye exam until I began my career in the optical field, I can only speak from experience on the technology used within the Eyezen lenses.
Having never worn glasses before, I had no idea what to expect. I put on my first pair of regular single vision lenses and instantly felt dizzy. I will tell you, driving was scary because every time I checked the rear or side mirrors, it felt like I was swimming.
I know, it takes some getting used to, and eventually I did, but the day that I was handed a voucher to try the new Eyezen Start lenses, the world within my eyes completely changed.
In this blog, I am going to talk to you about the Eyezen™ family of lenses, whom they are geared for, and the benefits of each lens available.
Eyezen Start
Eyezen Start was recently created with the use of digital devices in mind. While your everyday single vision lenses only offer distance only viewing through the center of the lens, the Eyezen Start provides full prescription viewing throughout the whole lens - including your close-up objects such as your phone, tablet, and computer.
Benefits of the Eyezen Start:
- Added Eyezen DualOptim™ technology to the backside of the lens that optimizes the whole lens by calculating distances and angles for digital devices - making near vision more comfortable without additional aberrations.
- Reduces digital eyestrain
- Available in all materials up to 1.67
- Compatible with Crizal, Transitions, and Polarized
Eyezen Kids
The Eyezen Kids is a new lens that was released in early 2022. This option has everything that the Eyezen Start has but also offers harmful blue light protection.
Benefits of the Eyezen Kids:
- Added Eyezen DualOptim™ technology to the backside of the lens that optimizes the whole lens by calculating distances and angles for digital devices - making near vision more comfortable without additional aberrations.
- Reduces digital eyestrain
- 20% harmful blue light reduction
- 100% UV protection
- Only available in polycarbonate

Eyezen+
The Eyezen+ offers a small amount of accommodative relief to alleviate eye strain caused by viewing near objects such as a cell phone, tablet, or computer. All lenses within this family offer 20% of harmful blue light reduction.
The Eyezen+ comes in 5 levels and should be based on age and your patient's visual needs in the near zone. As you will see in the corresponding chart, the Eyezen+ 0 is for children and teens and offers no additional power in the near zone, while the 4 is perfect for pre-emerging presbyopes with a +1.30D "add" in the near zone.
Benefits of the Eyezen+:
- A small bump in add power to accommodate relief to digital eyestrain
- 20% harmful blue light reduction
- Available in all materials up to 1.67 (excluding Trivex)
- Compatible with Crizal, Transitions, polarized, and Essential Blue
With Eyezen lenses you have the option to take better care of your patients from ages 5 to 50 with one product.
