Shamir makes two of the most popular occupational lenses on the market today with the Shamir Computer and Shamir workspace lenses. While both lenses are similar, there are key differences that you need to understand to dispense the correct one to the right patient. Once you know when to use which lens, you'll see patient satisfaction increase along with your sales.
The Shamir Computer is the perfect occupational lens for patients that spends the majority of their day working at their desk in front of a computer or other digital devices. A few examples include an accountant, call center employee, a day trader/stock analyst, a date entry clerk, a pianist, or graphic designers. Good for any patient who work in a cubicle or small office and spends the majority of their time on a PC or laptop.
This lens provides a wide field of vision up to 5 feet in front of the patient. This is significantly better than any pair of readers available today.
The Computer is available in CR39, polycarbonate, trivex, 1.60 and 1.67 materials. Available add-ons include IcareLabs BlueGuard in polycarbonate or Shamir Blue Zero in polycarbonate, trivex, and 1.67 materials; Transitions Gen 8 in CR39, polycarbonate, trivex, 1.60 and 1.67 materials. Also available with Transitions XTRActive or in polarized lens options.
The Shamir Workspace is the best occupational lens for patients that find themselves bouncing around the office along with working on digital devices throughout the day. Similar to how an optometrist or optician may spend the majority of their work day, these lenses provide patients an even wider field vision up to 10 feet in front of them. Some examples of great candidates for the Workspace lens include nurses, sales clerks, receptionist, hairdressers, and surgeons. It's also a great option for executives who spend a good amount of time on computers and speaking with others across their desks.
It provides all the intermediate help that the patient will need with added depth of field out to 10 feet.
The Workspace is available in CR39, polycarbonate, trivex, 1.60 and 1.67 materials. Available add-ons include IcareLabs BlueGuard in polycarbonate or Shamir Blue Zero in polycarbonate; Transitions Gen 8 in CR39, polycarbonate, trivex, and 1.60 materials.
