The Heritage Office design is perfect for retail staff like opticians and ODs that bounce around between their desk and the rest of the store. Any professional that spends a good amount of their day jumping around the
office from different areas and back to their computers will find these lenses to work great.
Designed specifically for working on tasks requiring near and intermediate vision, these will perform better than standard progressive lens designs by giving wider fields of view and more comfortable posture as the reading area is much more accessible. The sacrifice is a slightly limited distance vision of a normal PAL, but still allows the patient to see about 6 1/2 feet in the distance area.
The Heritage Desk
The Heritage Desk is a great option for your patients that spend a significant amount of time directly in front of their computers or at their desk. Not only is this a great option for professional desk jockeys like myself, but this design is also great for gamers as well. This design offers an even wider field of view compared to the Heritage Office, but the sacrifice here is much less distance at only around 3 feet.
Selling The Heritage Office & Desk
Occupational designs like the Heritage Office & Desk give you the unique opportunity for a true 2nd pair sale. Both single vision and presbyopes can benefit from a dedicated pair of occupational lenses. When you are having your needs-based conversation with your patient, listen out for key words like "computers" or if they mention working in an office environment. You can also ask them if they spend more time at their desk or around the office, their answer tells you exactly which Heritage occupational lens to offer them. Now you don't have to worry about feeling "salesy" since you can recommend an additional pair of glasses that can provide significant improvement to their day-to-day life.

Please note, if printing the chart yourself, to make sure the scale is set to 100% and fit to page is turned off. We are more than happy to provide our double-sided Heritage PAL and Occupational layout chart to all of our customers, you can request one from your account manager.
When fitting the patient, remind them about the unique design benefits of the Office or Desk. For progressive wearers, remind them of the limited distance in these lenses compared to their regular progressive. Make sure to advise all patients them that driving with occupational lenses is never recommended and potentially dangerous.
