2023 Plans
In April of 2023, we took a significant leap forward by revolutionizing our surfacing department. The addition of
six cutting-edge machines from Coburn Technologies have transformed our surfacing operations, almost entirely automating the entire process. Today, we boast the capacity to surface nearly 200 jobs per hour, a testament to our commitment to efficiency and innovation.
Our journey toward perfection did not stop there. The AR department underwent a meticulous overhaul, focusing on gaining much-needed efficiencies. The implementation of a "first in, first out" process has significantly enhanced our service time, providing our accounts with a streamlined and expedited experience. Additionally, we upgraded our hard coating process with the latest technology, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality.
2024 Plans
As we step into 2024, our focus remains on growth and excellence. We are dedicated to training and cross-training new associates entering the optical laboratory industry. While we cherish the expertise of our veteran associates, some of whom have been with IcareLabs for almost half a century, we also welcome those with fresh perspectives and less than two years of experience.
Looking ahead, we plan to invest in our finishing department by incorporating the latest lens edging technology. This strategic move is poised to enhance our finishing quality and service time, further solidifying our commitment to delivering the very best to our accounts and, ultimately, their patients.
