Hot off the heels of the 2025 Transitions Academy comes the launch of the latest photochromic lenses, Transitions Color Touch. These new lenses are designed to appeal directly to patients looking to have just a touch of color in their photochromic lenses when not activated. Let's dive into everything we know so far about these new lenses in our latest blog.
The Transitions Color Touch Washed lenses will have a hint of color on the lenses when not activated. This allows the color in the lenses to pop at all times. Once activated, the lenses go completely dark just like the Gen S lenses. Here is a picture of the Washed Ruby and Sapphire lenses in their non-activated state so you can see the hint of color:
The new Gradient lens options provide a gradient tint when the lenses are not activated. These are the perfect option for those patients that want gradient style but are also looking for photochromic lenses. As mentioned above, they will have all 5 color options to choose from. Here are the Amber and Amethyst colors not activated:
And here is an example of the Ruby Gradient not activated and activated:
As you can see, once the lenses are activated they become fully dark and showcase the selected color.
Currently, the Transitions Color Touch Washed and Gradient lenses are on track for a July 2025 roll out. As with all product launches, this is subject to change. As with all previous Transitions lens product launches, IcareLabs expects to have these available at launch for all of our ECPs.
