EssilorLuxottica has announced that they will be discontinuing several older lens designs within the Varilux product line at the end of this month as part of a push to simplify their product offerings. This will benefit us all and make choosing the correct lens for your patient easier than ever. We'll take a look at what products are going away as well as give you recommendations for replacements in this blog.
Effective February 29, 2024, the following Varilux lenses will no longer be available:
Varilux Physio and the Varilux Physio Short
Varilux Physio 360 and the Varilux Physio 360 Short
Varilux Comfort Enhanced and the Varilux Comfort Enhanced Fit
Varilux Physio Enhanced, Varilux Physio Enhanced Fit, and the Varilux Physio Enhanced Eyecode

For patients who were using the Physio or Physio Short, then the Physio DRx will be the perfect alternative. With the Physio 360 or the Physio 360 Short, we recommend upgrading them to either the Varilux Comfort Max or the Varilux Physio DRx. These lenses will provide them with upgraded digital technologies for a comparable price.
For patients who were using the Comfort Enhanced, Comfort Enhanced Fit, Physio Enhanced, Physio Enhanced Fit, or the Physio Enhanced Eyecode, we recommend upgrading them to either the latest Varilux XR Series or the Varilux X Series lenses. These will provide them with a premium top-of-the-line design that should impress them.
